Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Medical Science Liaison Rheumatology who is organized, team player and good communicator to join us in our Immunology team, preferred located in Barcelona.

About the role

As a Medical Science Liaison you are a Medical Affairs professional who serves as a key field-based scientific partner to healthcare providers and decision-makers, medical professional associations, and internal UCB colleagues in the territory.

You engage in peer-to-peer scientific exchanges relative to the assigned asset and therapeutic area throughout the product’s life-cycle and gather/share crucial insights which can inform business strategies and product development.

You will be responsible for collecting actionable insights from the Rheumatology market, identify clinical/educational opportunities for the organization, implementing key medical strategies to enhance and positively impact patient care, access and outcomes.

Who you’ll work with

You will report to the Field Medical Lead and you are the local medical representative/scientific expert of a field cross-functional team.

You will work in a team of 3 colleagues mainly focus in Rheumatology, being part of a team of 10 colleagues from different therapeutical areas in Immunology.

What you’ll do

-You will develop/manage customers including customer identification, effective customer engagement, and efficient territory management.
-You will maximize site performance and support clinical trials, non-interventional and other RWE studies through the collection and communication of medical and scientific knowledge.
-You will support other franchise functions from a scientific perspective through scientific exchanges with payors, hospital pharmacists and others, as requested.
-You will maintain and leverage strong and up to date therapeutic expertise to, in the context of patient’s journey, support tactical execution of territory plan in line with key UCB medical strategies
-You will demonstrate medical leadership by contributing to key medical and scientific events, advisory boards, and Real World Evidence (RWE) generation.
-You will contribute and communicate cross-functionally with field level counterparts from sales and market access to transform customer insights into actions to deliver superior and sustainable customer value and impact.

education, experience 
and skills

-Educational background: PHD in Life Sciences, MD, PharmD.
-3 years’ experience in a similar position in the rheumatology field.
-Demonstrated negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to teach for differentiation based on insights, to tailor proposals for resonance and to take control while developing constructive tension with the customer.
-Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific and clinical data in 1:1 and group settings, in English (B2) and Spanish.
-Cross functional mindset and business acumen.
