Network Education Lead – Science This is a national role and the role holder will be required to undertake UK travel and occasional overnight stays. About Us

We are looking for an exceptional individual to deliver this important and challenging role to help STEM Learning achieve its vision of a world-leading STEM education for all young people across the UK.

To do this you will provide high-quality educational input and expertise which underpins STEM Learning as the leading provider of STEM education support across the UK (and beyond). This role is fully accountable for the quality, reach and engagement of science provision across STEM Learning’s Network, ensuring support is delivered in ways and by people who can uphold fully our reputation for quality and impact.

We are looking for someone who will work with a wide range of key stakeholders to drive forward demand for our science specific CPD and wider support. You will also the steer the engagement of the science education community including teachers, senior leaders and the wider school and college system, while ensuring that our science and other STEM-specific professional development, educational resources and careers support are of the highest quality, relevant, targeted and accessible to all.

This role will be instrumental in building the capability and capacity of the National STEM Leaning Centre, Science Learning Partnerships (SLPs) and the wider network of support to impact positively on young people’s engagement with, and enthusiasm for science and other STEM subjects.

Our Ideal Candidate

With a proven track record in science education, you will also have significant experience of working in and across a range of schools/colleges to improve student attainment and progress in science and have excellent knowledge of science education and the skills agenda.

Communication and collaboration are key to this role, with the ability to engage credibly with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (such as school and college leaders, governors, government officials, subject associations, professional bodies and employers).

You will have experience in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of effective subject specific professional development (with proven impact on teacher development and student outcomes) and be able to demonstrate your experience of leading and driving innovation and change in an education setting so as to improve outcomes for young people.
