Our HR department is transforming. This is one of a number of positions being created to deliver the University’s new People and Culture Strategic Delivery Plan – you will play an important role as part of this exciting change, helping us embed the University’s values of Inclusivity, Ambition, Openness, Fairness and Respect.? 

The Occupational Health Manager sits within the HR?Consulting, Projects and Policy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the University’s approach to Occupational Health (OH) and to develop pro-active OH services to align with our overall health and wellbeing strategy.?

You will manage our OH provision through an external supplier and working closely with Health and Safety and Registrars to ensure that the service is efficient and supports staff and students with their health and wellbeing. The role will formulate, implement and deliver a best practice approach to OH that ensures we comply with legislative requirements and engage with best practice.    

With a collaborative attitude and a passion for health and wellbeing, you will pro-actively anticipate and resolve problems and use your OH experience to embed innovative solutions. Developing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels including Health and Safety, Registrars, Trade Unions and University Committees, as well as engaging staff, students and managers, will be key to driving business benefits.??

You will be experienced in working in an OH setting with experience of managing OH suppliers and have strong communication and stakeholder manager skills. You will be comfortable in using a wide range of data and information to identify trends and issues and develop fit for purpose solutions.

Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time. Job share arrangements may be considered.
