We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative Occupational Therapist who can think outside the box. The post holder will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy Assessment and treatment, working with Adolescents and young Adults..You will be working closely with the Lead Occupational Therapist to develop the Occupational Therapy Role within Ellern Mede and will ensure that we offer excellent, client centred Occupational Therapy treatment working closing with the whole MDT to ensure positive Outcomes for the young people we work with.The post holder will offer both individual and groupwork guided by Occupational Therapy models of practise to support our young peoples recovery. This includes having an integral role in providing Occupational therapy expertise and recommendations to support safe discharge from hospital back into the communityMain duties of the jobThe post holder will offer both individual and groupwork guided by Occupational Therapy models of practise to support our young peoples recovery.To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of OT services. To prepare reports, conduct assessments, perform risk assessments, conduct planned and structured therapeutic activity (both individual and group) for the patient population and in collaboration with the MDT members. To engage with families as part of the treatment programme.To prepare group and individualised therapy/activity timetables and provide monthly analysis on engagement. To direct the activity staff and apply resources cost effectively and appropriately.To participate in staff training and reflective practice with the nursing and clinical team to support the learning culture of the Hospital and promote best practice.To work independently on a day-to-day basis. This work will be supervised and reviewed at regular intervals by the Clinical Director.To ensure that all patients are safeguarded from potential harm and to conduct activities in a manner which is consistent with professional practice, policy and legislation.About usEllern Mede is an internationally renowned specialist service for people with eating disorders and our expert clinicians offer both, inpatient and outpatient treatments, tailor-made to each individual.   • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy Registration to practice in the UK Evidence of post registration training relevant to mental Training in the theory and application of the model of human occupation within the first 4 months of appointment.

Desirable

  • Full and current driving licence

ExperienceEssential

  • Experience of carrying a caseload in a mental health setting Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team Experience of maintaining a written record of continual professional development Experience of individual and groupwork.

Desirable

  • Experience working with CAMHS patients or young adults
