The post holder will lead the strategic management and oversight of the physical, technical and operational infrastructure of the church, supporting and releasing the Vicar and other ministry leads to concentrate on the outworking of the church’s vision to be a visible, welcoming and thriving community where people find transformation of their lives in Jesus.The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.The Operations Manager role is a new post at Hope Church Hounslow. As a key member of the leadership of Hope Church Hounslow staff team, the post holder will lead the strategic management and oversight of the physical, technical and operational infrastructure of the church, supporting and releasing the Vicar and other ministry leads to concentrate on the outworking of the church’s vision to be a visible, welcoming and thriving community where people find transformation of their lives in Jesus. An Occupational Requirement exists for this post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs this is a brand new position for Hope Church, you will be pioneering and shaping the parameters of the role over the next 12 months. You will be confident in encouraging new ways of working and able to gently challenge areas for improvement. Excellent relationship-building skills will be key to this.Responsibilities include:1) Contributing to the leadership of Hope Church HounslowLeadership: Serve as a key member of the Hope Church Hounslow leadership team, supporting the Vicar, Wardens, Ministry leads, and PCC to ensure that the church achieves its vision2) OperationsServices: providing practical and technical operational management on Sundays and at other services during the week, ensuring the services are well organised beforehand and problem solving where necessary.
Administration & financial management: responsible for the church office, supervising administrative staff: ensuring efficient oversight of daily/weekly administrative tasks and financial operations, the prompt response to general church enquiries and assistance to the Treasurer with financial tasks.
Commercial: supervising staff responsible for the commercial activities of the church such as letting of rooms
Communications: overseeing internal communications (e.g. What’s On weekly email, Sunday notices etc.) and external communications (e.g. website) in coordination with the staff team.
IT Strategy: overseeing or outsourcing the IT function for the church, meeting cyber security and data protection requirements and the effective use of church based management systems.
Buildings: overseeing and supporting the Buildings Manager in the maintenance and usage of church premises3) PeopleHuman Resources: Managing the HR function for the church, helping with the search, selection, induction of new staff members, leading on the issuing of contracts, voluntary agreements and job descriptions to staff and volunteers.
Management: line managing administrative staff in the church team and leading in the mobilisation, training and support systems for volunteers.4) Systems and processesPolicies & Procedures: ensuring all required church policies are up to date and compliant with legislation, with clear procedures in place to support their implementation.
Risk Management: working with Buildings, Safeguarding and H&S leads to undertake risk assessments as required and develop and maintain a safe working environment in line with our legal responsibility with regards to safeguarding, H&S, and data protection.
Strategic planning: support and contribute to the visioning and strategic planning processes of the vicar, the church team and PCCPerson SpecificationPersonal Qualities:● Commitment to the vision and aims of Hope Church Hounslow.

● GCSE, or equivalent, passes in English and Maths (because there will be both writing and accounting elements to the role). Relevant qualifications in operational management, business, finance, administration, or similar, are desirable, but not essential.Experience:
● Experience of working with multiple stakeholders.
● Experience of working well within a team.
● Experience of working in a similar role.
● Able to drive/have use of a car is desirable, as this role will be working across two locations
Expected salary
£30000 – 35000 per year
