journey to develop an ammonia import terminal and CO2 storage and export capabilities. As an
essential part of our team, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our
operations meet the highest standards while supporting the needs of our customers. This role
requires technical expertise and hands-on leadership, particularly in ammonia and gas
operations, to drive the development and optimization of terminal operations.The role will be based in Vlissingen (min 2/3 days/week) and reports to the General Manager
LBC Vlissingen.Your Role as Operations ManagerAs an Operations Manager, you will oversee the operability and maintainability of our (future)
terminal processes and ensure we build a futureproof and efficient terminal for renewable
energy products. You will work closely with the project (engineering) team and develop (future)
training and commissioning plans to ensure smooth operations. Your expertise in ammonia
and/or gas handling will be key to the success of this role.What You’ll Do

  • As the “Internal Customer”, review designs from engineering firms and the project team

to ensure they meet the operability and maintainability requirements of the terminal.
You work closely with the project team to identify potential issues and suggest
improvements that will enhance the long-term efficiency and safety of the terminal.

  • Work on defining the eventual terminal organization, ensuring that staffing, operational

processes, and technology are aligned with the needs of the (future) business and
operations.

  • Work with the commercial team to ensure that what is agreed and contracted with

customers is translated into the terminal design and can be executed safely and
efficiently.

  • Develop strategies for optimizing operational workflows and resource allocation.
  • Develop comprehensive training and commissioning plans for new terminal operations.

Ensure that operational teams are well-prepared to handle new systems and equipment
safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day terminal activities, with a focus on ammonia

and gas handling.

  • Apply your ammonia/gas experience to ensure best practices are implemented in the

storage, handling, and safety protocols of these products.What You Bring

  • Proven experience in ammonia and gas operations, with a deep understanding of safety

and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong technical knowledge and extensive (10+ years) experience in terminal

operations, design, and maintenance.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide other team members.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
