We are excited to offer a position within the Doctoral College to support the INSPIRE Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council’s Diversifying the Talent Pipeline fund. The INSPIRE DTP is a member of a national network of funded Doctoral Training Partnerships, delivering the latest developments in training in research methods and skills to produce highly qualified and rounded scientists, equipped to meet contemporary challenges.

In this new role, you’ll work closely with the DTP Administration Team and with INSPIRE DTP partner organisations to deliver a series of widening participation initiatives, and support our diversity, equity and inclusion goals. Including:

· Coordinating outreach visits to schools

· Organising and supporting visits to the University of Southampton

· Supporting the development of training resources and activities

· Recruiting and coordinating PhD volunteers to support activities

About you

You will be an excellent team player with experience and a proven ability to work proactively. You will possess strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering high quality projects. You will have experience of working with young people, and an understanding of the widening participation agenda.

You must also be a competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

There will be a requirement for occasional travel to our partner institutions and attendance at out of working hours/overnight events/visits.

Successful candidates will be able to work flexibly and remotely and will be expected to spend at least 60% of their contracted hours working at National Oceanography Centre Southampton/Waterfront Campus.
