A dedicated and compassionate Patient Affairs Manager is pivotal in fostering strong relationships with patient communities and advocacy groups to ensure that patients across the European region receive the highest quality care and support throughout their patient journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare systems across Europe, regulatory and market access landscapes, excellent communication skills in building and nurturing partnerships, and knowledge of Grifols therapeutic areas, particularly in managing patient communities.What your responsibilities will be
- Patient Advocacy and Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local patient organizations, advocacy groups and other relevant stakeholders, addressing concerns, providing information, and ensuring positive patient experience.
- Strategy Execution: Support defining and implement patient engagement strategies tailored to the needs of the patient community across Europe.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access, to ensure alignment of patient engagement activities (patient-centric campaigns and materials, the patient voice in P&R strategies, recruitment for clinical trials…). Represent the patient perspective within the organization to ensure we prioritize patient needs.
- Education and Training: Develop educational materials and training programs for patients and patient organizations to empower them.
- Event Coordination: Organize and participate in patient-focused events, such as workshops, webinars, and conferences.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on patient experiences and outcomes to inform strategy and improve patient support programs. Conduct regular assessments of patient needs, trends, and gaps in care.
- Compliance: Ensure all patient engagement activities comply with relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies. Promote and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patient communities.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on patient engagement activities and outcomes for senior management.
Who you areTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Public Health, Communications). A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in healthcare management or patient advocacy are desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience across external affairs disciplines (e.g. patient affairs, advocacy, public policy, corporate communications, healthcare management, or related roles). Experience in working in a global or European context, as well as previous engagement with patient communities is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in English and Spanish; additional European language needed (French, Italian, or Nordic language).
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team environment.
