The expert is expected to impulse and steer the deep-dives leveraging on their own P&C and analytical expertise as well as on the sufficient SCOR network (UW, ABI, pricing, Finance, retrocession, expenses, tax) to cover the analytics holistically and consistently with the recurring analysis. The individual does not cover the recurring financial analysis but leverages on it and participates to its transformation and cascading to the whole departments and ensure its consistency with the deep-dives. 

Their leadership on Insight and Performance developments and activities extends to the whole P&C Reserving and Performance department including the regional Reserving and Performance teams

The Senior Insight expert will be responsible for:

  • Insight and strategic decision support: the in-depth insight through the recurrent analysis and deep-dives should enable to understand what has happened on the business front over the period, but also help identify trends, opportunities and risks that would impact the BU’s performance in the short / Medium / longer term. 
  • Deep-dives: The expert is expected to impulse and steer the deep-dives leveraging on their own P&C and analytical expertise as well as on the sufficient SCOR network to cover the analytics holistically and consistently with the recurring analysis.
  • Recurrent analysis: The expert is expected to leverage on quarterly analysis production and participate to its transformation 
  • Global deal reviews: The expert will support the Head of P&C Reserving and Performance and the Head of P&C Performance and Insight to the Performance opinion on global deal assessments
  • Business dialog: you will support the definition, transformation, implementation and momentum of the business dialogs (including reserving and performance feedback loops) and will ensure the insights produced by the global department is available to the largest audience.
  • It is key that you develop and master all performance/reporting frameworks and related KPIs, including those used by the Business to steer the portfolios, so that there is an end-to-end consistency in messaging around expected and actual performance. Ultimately these analytics aim to provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support business planning decisions including assessment on large deals requiring a referral.
  • Strong collaboration is expected with other group teams, in particular BU teams (UW, ABI and In-force management, Pricing, Claims, Retrocession), other Finance teams (Corporate Performance, Reserving, Group Treasury), and the BU Finance Business Partner) in order to provide a business view with local footprint and constraints (liquidity / capital).
  • Stakeholder communication: presentation of Performance deliverables to senior leadership, auditors, COMEX and material for Investors and Rating agency communication, translating complex financial concepts into clear and business relevant insights. In addition, strong coordination with Investor Relations for producing an appropriate messaging around results/planning.
  • Financial modelling is expected – as and when scenarios / business opportunities are envisaged. 

Strong vertical and transversal leadership, including with regional Reserving and Performance teams as well as with at-large P&C BU Community, to ensure their professional growth and development, while fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

  • Minimum 6 years in the industry
  • Proven experience in in P&C insurance or reinsurance industry
  • Demonstrated ability for transversal management
  • Strong change and transformation culture/mindset
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting and data analysis tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to bridge financial data with business insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – targeting boards and senior management
  • Technical knowledge of the main reporting standards: IFRS17 and Solvency 2 is essential
  • Strategic mindset with a track record of contributing to the development/execution of business strategies on the one hand and on the other leading teams during a period of change / transformation, with an eye to revisit the way things are (have been) done so that it fits a new context.
