Reserve list: Applicable – See details in the “Useful information” sectionYour teamWithin the , the Staff Administration and Support service manages staff entitlements and administration, and administers the payroll and pensions.As a Pension Specialist, you will coordinate the departure planning process, provide support and recommendations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and in compliance with rules, policies and standards of the Agency. The role includes performing pensions and tax calculations, data checks liaising with internal and external stakeholders, as well as acting as pension focal point for some countries. These activities will be carried out under the responsibility and supervision of the Pension Team Leader.Your roleYour role will be to:

  • Coordinate the pensions & departure planning process of EUROCONTROL staff members, ensuring timely coordination of pension files and requests. Monitor and report on upcoming departures to support the planning of the service’s activities and other domains of the Directorate;
  • Provide guidance on the Agency’s pension tax compensation scheme to former staff members, including calculating individual pension tax compensation amounts and also verifying individual tax assessments;
  • Act as one of the focal points on this matter, and research and monitor national tax laws impacting EUROCONTROL pensioners residing in EUROCONTROL Member States;
  • Perform data checks on pension records in HR and payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards, and correct them as needed;
  • Coordinate the implementation of standards for file completeness, legal references and calculation methods;
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to streamline pension and offboarding procedures, and with external authorities (e.g., national agencies) to resolve high-impact issues and ensure regulatory alignment;
  • Produce statistics, dashboards, reports, contribute to audits and projects, etc., and present findings and recommendations to management;
  • Act as person of reference within the team for more complex pensions related questions;
  • Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • University degree of at least 3 years and professional experience of 1 year, or university degree of 4 years. A degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset (e.g. Accounting, Business Administration, Administrative Law, Human Resources, Payroll Management, or Social Sciences);
  • In addition to the above, minimum 3 years of relevant working experience;
  • Experience in payroll management, compensation and benefits, or accounting (particularly with experience in managing individual or private income, taxation, or personal financial matters in EU);
  • Excellent command of MS Office package, in particular Excel;
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, SharePoint, SAP Business Objects, Power BI will be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of tax and social security regulations (in particular for Benelux, Germany or France) will be considered an asset;
  • Ability in working with internal rules and regulations related to the working conditions;

  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users at level C1/C2 in English or French and independent users at level B1/B2 in the other language. Knowledge of other European languages, in particular Dutch or German will be considered an asset;

  • The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of 5 Year(s) in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract;
  • The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine (9) months before being established in the post;
  • The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades;
  • Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications;
