People Systems Improvement Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE

As People Systems Improvement Specialist, you will contribute to the effective delivery of University activities by developing, implementing, and optimising the usefulness and utilisation of systems and the underpinning business processes. You will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the NU People and Finance system, as part of a team.

In this role, you will contribute to system development, testing, and training to enable the University to realise the full potential of the Oracle Fusion HCM system. You will support critical business processes through managing system problems, incidents and changes, liaising with external suppliers as required to deliver technical support. You will apply your experience in managing systems to implement maintenance routines, develop documentation and maintain good governance around changes.

ABOUT THE TEAM

This position is within the Insight, Data and Improvement (IDI) team. IDI leads system and data development across HR and Finance, with a focus on facilitating change and unlocking the full benefit of the NU People and Finance system. IDI is responsible for the creation of reports, production of annual external returns, implementation of a data quality assurance framework, delivery of system updates, and provision of user support.

The post holder will be generally located at the University’s city campus however will travel to other campuses and sites as required. Our team has a blended approach which includes remote and on campus working. The frequency with which colleagues will work on campus will depend on the role and the needs of the University. Some colleagues work on campus 5 days a week and others perhaps 2 or 3 days.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in the role you will have experience in configuring, troubleshooting and managing systems. You will also have excellent communication and relationship skills, with an ability to both communicate technical or specialist information to others, and to translate business requirements into systems and data solutions. You will have experience of delivering continuous improvement and will be motivated by opportunities to make changes and share with others.

It is essential that you have a relevant first degree or extensive equivalent experience.
