FunctionProject ManagementJob DescriptionWe are now seeking Performance Management Lead – International Corn Milling, reporting into the Director, Carbohydrate Solutions EMEA with dotted line to Finance Director, International Corn Milling (ICM).
ICM comprises of multiple plants and other Joint Ventures across EMEA and APAC.The Performance Management Lead should be the subject matter expert of both financial and operational aspects of plant and regional operations including operating costs and capital expenditures, taking a leadership role in improving the plant’s and region’s cost position and operations reporting.This role works closely with Plant Managers, Plant Finance Managers, Category Managers and the COE’s providing critical feedback and support in key decisions related to annual planning, energy procurement, CAPEX spend and plant operations.Your Responsibilities
- Plant safety leadership
- Promote a positive safety attitude in all interactions
- Up-to-date on leading and lagging indicators related to HSE
- Plant operations
- Knowledgeable on each plant unit operation as well as its financial impact
- Track high level operating KPIs such as operational efficiency, yield, energy/chemical utilization, and first pass prime
- Engage with COE and actively coordinate monthly Review & Response meetings for each location
- Expertise in plant energy and utility balance; understand high level philosophy of optimizing plant energy balance
- Annual and Strategic Planning
- Coordinate annual and 5-year planning cycles for ICM ensuring strict adherence to timelines, top down targets and by providing support and collaboration with operations team and other stakeholders
- Aid in developing and implementing ICM’s capital strategy
- Plant cost position
- Single point of contact for all matter related to tracking cost evolution of plant against goals and benchmarks
- Ownership of energy spend for the plants by performing detailed analysis and forecasting for the energy consumption and act as a consultant for all decisions related to energy procurement
- Coordinate month end close including inventory, load, and usage reconciliation
- Engage with regional controlling team and FP&A streamlining month end close procedures to aid in accuracy and timeliness of results for manufacturing costs
- Communicate to FP&A in Carbohydrate Solutions on operating performance, savings initiatives, and capital strategy of corn/wheat milling plants
- Lead plant cost analysis efforts
- Analyze performance gaps and highlight areas of opportunity through statistical analysis
- Work with accounting to explain cost anomalies
- Implement cost tracking and improvement tools in the plants
- Promote accountability of financial and operational KPIs amongst plant/regional leadership via coaching and follow-up
- Hold routine financial reviews with all levels of plant leadership that highlight performance gaps and areas of opportunity
- Take part in AFE preparation and lookbacks to understand financial justification of capital expenditures
Your ProfileThe Successful Candidate Will Possess The Following
- A strong background in finance with knowledge or experience in plant operations
- University degree in either engineering or finance
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience
- Fluent in English. Additional languages are a plus
- Strong PowerBI skills are a plus.
- SAP, BW, Microsoft tools
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Entrepreneurial, actively triggering discussions and collaboration
- Able to influence stakeholders
- Willingness to travel – 10-25% travel expected
