The internationally recognized Quantum Information Technologies Research Group at the University of Warsaw, led by Prof. Magdalena Stobińska, is seeking an exceptional PhD candidate to join our dynamic team.What We Offer: You will be directly involved in groundbreaking quantum research with real-world applications, working with state-of-the-art topics. The position is based in Warsaw, one of Europe’s most dynamic and affordable capital cities, offering an excellent quality of life for researchers.Your Research Journey: Your research will explore the fascinating frontiers of quantum science, focusing on quantum information theory and quantum entanglement. You’ll investigate nonlocality and quantum networks, working to bridge theoretical frameworks with experimental implementations. While our group’s primary focus is theoretical, you’ll have the unique opportunity to participate in proof-of-concept demonstrations through our experimental collaborations.Ideal Candidate: We’re looking for candidates who hold or are about to complete an MSc in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in quantum mechanics/information/ optics, along with basic programming skills in languages such as Python or MATLAB. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, as is enthusiasm for collaborative research and a creative approach to problem-solving.Practical Details: The position offers a scholarship plus additional project funding. The anticipated start date lies between between May-October 2025.
