This PhD position is part of a research team in holomorphic dynamics, based in Marseille and Barcelona. It works on a broad range of topics within holomorphic dynamics and its interactions with other areas of mathematics. The key topics in this project include: (1) transcendental dynamics (iteration of transcendental maps); (2) Thurston theory (geometrization of topological structure in low dimension); (3) iterative root finding methods (including Newton’s method and Weierstrass’ method, in theory and practice); and (4) symbolic dynamics and rigidity (distinction of different orbits, and different dynamical systems, in combinatorial terms).TYPE OF CONTRACT: TEMPORARY / JOB STATUS: FULL TIME
