This is a flexible worker position and therefore the Council offers opportunity to work in an

About the role:
To provide specialist advice on ecology and biodiversity matters relevant to the planning
service.
About you:
- Have significant experience of biodiversity matters relevant to planning
- Have experience of delivering excellent customer care
- Have a sound understanding of planning legislation and procedures
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Be passionate about working for a vibrant rural local planning authority
What you will do:
- To provide professional advice on biodiversity assisting in the fulfilment of Powys County
Council’s legal obligations relating to biodiversity. - To provide professional advice / training on biodiversity matters to Planning Officers,
Planning Agents /Applicants, Councillors and the Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way
Committee. - To undertake when appropriate, EIA screening and give EIA scoping opinions formally on
behalf of the authority. - To undertake biodiversity assessments relevant to the planning process, including HRA
assessments. - To remain up to date with all relevant legislation, appropriate guidance, national
standards, policies and other good practice. - To take the lead in maintaining close working links with Natural Resources Wales and other
biodiversity organisations.
