How it works: Our tech-enabled employee ownership platform acquires small businesses whose owners are about to retire and matches them with new managers.The company over time (10y+ horizon) retires its shares in favour of employees, all while generating cash and creating a new generation of employee-owned businesses that take over from owners previously without exit opportunities.About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Platform Developer/Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial in developing our business intelligence platform, which plays a pivotal role in company acquisition processes. The ideal candidate will excel in both low-code tools and programming languages like JavaScript and Python, be comfortable with numbers, and possess a strong financial understanding. They should also be a self-starter who thrives in a startup environment.Key responsibilities in developing the MVP

  • Database Development:
  • Develop and maintain a searchable database integrating APIs from company data sources like

, , or or alternatively handling bulk imports of company data. * Ensure the database includes detailed company profiles featuring financials, operational metrics, and compliance statuses. This includes researching the best ways of achieving those results.

  • Scorecard Functionality:
  • Implement algorithms to generate evaluation scorecards based on predefined financial and compliance criteria.
  • Develop features for dynamic scorecard updates based on new data inputs.
  • Outreach Coordination:
  • Set up and manage a bulk outreach system integrating with APIs such as openapi.it for letter dispatch.
  • Integrate with CRM systems like Apollo and SendGrid for efficient communication.

Possible responsibilities for future development

  • Engagement and Due Diligence Platform:
  • Facilitate secure owner logins and data submissions, including financial documentation and direct banking integrations (PDP2).
  • Design and maintain virtual data rooms for due diligence purposes, ensuring comprehensive data analysis and secure document management.
  • AI-Driven Analysis and Automation:
  • Develop AI tools to analyze uploaded data, verify document authenticity, and provide traceable answers.
  • Enhance operational efficiency through intelligent document search and financial health assessments.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in database technologies and API integration.
  • Programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with low-code tools and startup environments.
  • English proficiency. Proficiency in Italian is preferred, but not required.

Nice to haves

  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and business intelligence.
  • Experience with financial analysis and compliance due diligence.
  • Experience with CRM systems and mass communication tools.
