PURPOSE

Our vision is to bring together a Global Community for Children and Youth Digital Rights, gathering partners demanding a future where young people feel safe and supported online, and are able to claim their human rights.

To kick start this, from 13-15 April 2024, Amnesty International is organising a Global Youth Summit on Digital Rights. The event will welcome about 110 participants in Buenos Aires, and many more online. Most of the children and youth participants will be between 16 and 25.

Consultancy start and end date: This is expected to be four month consultancy, from January 2024 to May 2024, focused on a specific project.

Deadline for all applications: 4th January 2024

Rate: £150

OBJECTIVES AND DELIVERABLES

  • A dreaming session is facilitated on Sunday 14th April for children and young participants of the summit present in person, with the support of staff and the Digital Rights Champions.
  • An asynchronous dreaming session plan is proposed to online participants for carrying out at home.
  • Advises are given to the overall agenda to incorporate play and fun methodologies throughout, and delivering some of them on site.
  • A creative report from the session is produced (format TBC).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Expertise and practice in play theory, and/or applied art and theatre theories and gamification methodologies;
  • Experience designing interactive sessions;
  • Experience implementing participatory processes to engage children and/or young people from diverse backgrounds or delivering collaborative projects or workshops led by communities;
  • Facilitation experience with large groups (roughly 100 people);
  • Experience working with children and/or young people in a global context;
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding for children and youth;
  • Working knowledge of English is essential to engage with our planning team.
