About ENTSO-EENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. ENTSO-E coordinates the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. ENTSO-E was established and given legal mandates by the EU’s Third Legislative Package for the Internal Energy Market in 2009, which aims at further liberalising the gas and electricity markets in the EU; the legal mandates include among others: Europe-wide 10-year electricity network development plans, the transparency platform, network codes, guidelines and European-wide methodologies.The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels is focal point for technical, market and policy questions for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with European Commission, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders. The role of the TSOs and their cooperation in ENTSO-E is crucial to ensuring security of supply; completing the largest and most competitive electricity market in the world; and successfully integrating large volumes of renewable energy into the system. The candidate we are seeking will contribute to ENTSO-E work both in legally mandated tasks and policy-related work related to European electricity markets.Job descriptionWe are looking for a professional and skilled Policy and Stakeholder Management Intern. If yes, ENTSO-E is the right place for you.The Policy and Stakeholder Management Intern will actively contribute to the implementation of the ENTSO-E Advocacy Plan. This will involve contribution to projects tied to the delivery of the organisation’s EU policy priorities and legal mandates, while enhancing ENTSO-E’s reputation and raising awareness. We seek a creative individual who proposes innovative and engaging actions to convey messages effectively and enhance ENTSO-E’s visibility, aligning with the organisation’s policy goals.We are seeking an intern who can join us for a 6-month period at the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels. In this role, you will work in the Policy, Communication and Stakeholder Management (PCSM) section, reporting directly to the Policy Manager.Your responsibilites

  • Support the policy team of the PCSM section to monitor, analyse, and report on EU policy and legislative developments in energy, environment, climate, and industrial policy for Management and Members.
  • Contribute to the organisation of meetings and discussions among PCG Members as well as follow up in order to facilitate consensus building and coordinated action on policy priorities.
  • Participate in the coordination of ENTSO-E’s responses to public consultations, position papers, and external communication materials on EU policy developments.
  • Assist the implementation of advocacy activities and stakeholder management related to strategic priorities, including liaising with other ENTSO-E sections.
  • Support the PCSM section by delivering administrative tasks and internal coordination follow up to ensure the efficient and smooth functioning of the team when conducting policy and advocacy work on strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the PCSM team to produce advocacy materials to support the Secretary-General Office and ENTSO-E Policy and Communication Expert Group.
  • Support the PCSM section to do internal reporting to the Board and Assembly of ENTSO-E.

Your profile

  • Studying towards a university degree in public administration, European studies, social sciences or related area.
  • Basic knowledge of EU energy, environment & climate policies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Structured and well organised mindset.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Interest in EU institutions, EU legislative processes and international stakeholders relevant for the energy sector.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English.

RequirementsThe candidate should:

  • Be eligible to reside in EU (meaning EU citizen or valid residence card).
  • Be a full-time student. The internship must be issued by your university as part of your studies.
  • Have a personal (also provided by university) health insurance valid for Belgium during the period of the internship.
  • Be able to sign an internship agreement with the university.
  • Agree on exact length of the internship and schedule (full time or part time).
