Reporting to Population Health Strategy Head, this role is strategically positioned to realize the ambition for T1D and contribute to the overall future success of Sanofi.Main responsibilitiesThe Population Health Strategy Head at Sanofi Italy will play a pivotal role in defining and executing customized patient pathways across various hospitals and territory health system within the company’s scope. The Population Health Strategy Lead at Sanofi Italy will be primarily responsible to adapt the Global people-at-risk screening, monitoring & infrastructure strategy to your local context for a first-in-class therapy in Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes and will play a pivotal role in defining and executing customized patient pathways across various hospitals and territory health system within the company’s scope. Reporting to the Population Health Strategy Head Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes and collaborating with other departments within Sanofi Italy, including medical teams and field networks, the Population Health Strategy Lead will be responsible of analyzing current healthcare processes, co-creating value propositions in alignment with Sanofi’s guidelines and overseeing their successful implementation and monitoring. Success in this role will depend on a deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and processes and on the ability to develop customized patient pathways with key stakeholders. The Population Strategy Lead will report directly to the Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes Population Strategy Head Italy.Key Responsibilities
- Patient Pathway Definition and Management: Develop and manage customized patient pathways within Sanofi’s purview, with a focus on providing innovative, comprehensive and efficient patient care. Defining the optimal referral pathway (incl. digital solutions) for seamless people at risk / patient journeys across the healthcare system.
- Stakeholder Identification: Identify and engage all relevant stakeholders, such as physicians, pediatricians, nursing staff, National and Regional Health Care Organizations and Societies to ensure seamless implementation of patient pathways. Mapping the screening and monitoring ecosystem and referral pathways.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster robust engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders to drive the successful adoption of patient pathways, identifying opportunities to improve screening and monitoring and infusion accessibility by identifying new testing channels and methodologies (e.g. via digital healthcare solutions), advocating for screening reimbursement (in collaboration with Market Access), demonstrating benefits and value proposition of screening (e.g. by developing local pilots, gathering data, and expanding them).
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, medical, market access, public affairs and field networks and other functions across the organization to ensure alignment among Franchise strategic priorities and key activities deployments. Assessing and managing risks around screening and monitoring in collaboration with Ethics & Business Integrity and Legal team.
- Healthcare Process Analysis: Evaluate and analyze existing healthcare processes within hospitals and territory public health system pinpointing opportunities for enhancement and efficiency. Identifying any operational barriers along the patient pathway.
- Participating in adapting the Global messaging: Ensure a compelling screening narrative (incl. value of screening, available screening infrastructures and programs, T1D staging, etc.) is available at country level and is tailored to the different segments of customers (e.g. HCPs, patients, families) based on local go-to-market model.
- Value Proposition Co-Creation: Participate in the co-creation of value propositions tailored to address patient needs while adhering to Sanofi’s corporate guidelines.
- Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of patient pathways, continuously monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments for optimal outcomes. Share best practices and connect Hospital/Regions to promote best in class initiatives. Identify and use appropriate KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency and impact of the activities implemented. Collecting and sharing the best practices with the country and Global teams.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Ecosystem: Stay abreast of developments in the Italian healthcare ecosystem, healthcare processes, and relevant regulations to inform decision-making.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Healthcare Ecosystem: Prior experience in healthcare process management with a deep understanding of the Italian healthcare landscape.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills both in English and Italian, with the ability to cultivate strong and effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and process evaluation, enabling the identification of areas for improvement and data-driven decision-making.
- Teamwork: Strong aptitude for collaborating effectively with various departments and multidisciplinary teams within Sanofi Italy.
About you
- 10+ years of commercial experience and/or value-based projects management.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Life science degree is a plus).
- Strong experience of working in cross-functional environment.
- Knowledge of lean methodology is a plus.
- Relevant work experience with proven impact in building value-based projects (e.g. Sales or marketing management).
- Health Ecosystem customer experience approach (HCPs, Payors, Diagnosis, Patients, Societies).
- Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external).
- Experience working with Regional Scientific Societies.
- Robust understanding of the strategies and tactics employed in chronic diseases area.
- Familiar with digital solutions.
- Deep understanding of patient journey and related treatment, enabling engagement at specialistic level.
- Intrapreneur, innovative, collaborative and strategic mindset.
- Motivated professional with a “can do” attitude, willing to work in a new innovative environment, able to achieve measurable results in a given timeline.
