Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, is organizing a competition for the position of professor in the group of research and teaching staff in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at the Faculty of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology
based in Gliwice at 2A Akademicka Street.Job description:
1) the competition is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of July 20, 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of June 3, 2019 (consolidated edition, Monitor Prawny PŚ of 2020, item 339) as a university professor,
2) expected start date: October 1, 2025,
3) place of work and type of contract: Department of Applied Social Sciences at the Faculty of Organization and Management, full-time employment contract,
4) period of employment: from 01.10.2025 to 30.09.2026 (with the possibility of extension).Requirements:
1) holding a postdoctoral degree or the title of professor in the field of theological or humanities sciences,
2) knowledge of the Polish language to a degree enabling conducting didactic classes or willingness to undertake independent learning of the Polish language,
3) knowledge of English to a level enabling teaching.Additional requirements:
1) declaration of belonging to the discipline: management and quality sciences (for the entire duration of the contract),
2) documented achievements in the field of promotion and popularization of science, also related to the implementation of scientific and research projects or works,
3) publication record in international scientific journals, especially authorship or co-authorship of at least 15 publications in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and/or WoS databases,
4) experience in conducting didactic classes and readiness to conduct them for at least 180 hours in an academic year,
5) experience in organizing international scientific conferences,
6) documented achievements related to the implementation of projects or scientific research,
7) experience in managing research and/or educational projects,
8) documented teaching and research achievements at foreign universities,
9) research achievements in a field corresponding to the research profile of the Department of Applied Social Sciences, in particular publications in the area of:
– ethical aspects of innovation and sustainable development,
– social aspects of environmental protection and management,
– ethics and philosophy,
10) the ability to develop supporting materials and use platforms to support remote teaching,
11) H-index according to Scopus not less than 7 and according to WoS not less than 5.Required documents:

2) documents confirming degrees and titles (scans of diplomas),
3) professional CV,
4) information about scientific, didactic and organizational achievements, information about the directions of further scientific activity,
5) a list of the candidate’s achievements, as provided in the attachment (available for download via the link), from the last 60 months (for the biomedical engineering discipline, a score of at least 847 points is required);
6) a list of the achievements listed in the list mentioned above, in particular: a list of publications, including those indexed in the JCR database, conference presentations, research internships, patents, awards and distinctions, supervisory work, and participation in research projects – along with dates,
7) a statement of active knowledge of English,
8) a statement of knowledge of Polish or willingness to learn (for candidates for whom Polish is not their mother language),
9) a statement that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work.The university offers:
