Offer DescriptionApplications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Biology and Environmental ScienceReference no – 017273This is a collaborative project with researchers in Trinity College Dublin and practitioners in Coillte. The project will use Natural Capital (Ecosystem) Accounting approaches to co-develop tools for sustainable forestry management decision making (see ).This is an advanced research focused role, building on your prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.The primary purpose of the role is to develop new or advanced research skills and competences, on the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications and scholarly dissemination, the development of funding proposals, and the supervision and mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.In addition to the Principal Duties and Responsibilities listed below, the successful candidate will also carry out the following duties specific to this project:

  • Design, implement and evaluate the decision support tool (DST) as an interactive web browser-based application (the core of the DST is a BBN)
  • Lead the Decision Support tool development and evaluation workshops with stakeholders and forest ecology experts.

PD1 Salary Range: €43,908 – €50,302 Per AnnumPD2 Salary Range: €€51,677- €56,202 per annumAppointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experienceClosing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on the 22nd of May 2024Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
