Applications are invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin: Post: Post-Doc / Senior Post-Doc Researcher in Artificial Intelligence for Freight Transport & Logistics (Fixed term specified purpose contract for up to 5 years with initial funding for 12 months) Reference: 562/2024 Location: The post will be based at the TU Dublin Camps i.e. Grangegorman (Parkhouse), Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Hours of Work: A 37 hour working week is in operation. Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Post-Doctoral / Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale i.e. €47,412 / €52,715 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience. Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Incremental credit may apply in line with University policy. Closing Date: 13th March 2025 at 5.00 p.m. (Irish time). Late applications will not be accepted. It is anticipated that interviews for this post will take place in the beginning of 14th April 2025. The interview assessment will be 50 minutes in length and will include a presentation of 10 minutes duration. The topic of this presentation will be as follows: ‘Interdisciplinary AI: Accelerating freight transport and logistics digital innovation’ Application Details/Procedures: For further information and to make an online application for the above post please visit website visit http://www.tudublin.ie/vacancies www.tudublin.ie/vacancies Technological University Dublin is an equal opportunities employer Person Specification The ideal candidate will demonstrate the appropriate mix of knowledge, experience, skills, talent and abilities required for the role as outlined below and must satisfy all of the essential criteria: Essential Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet all essential criteria. • A PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a closely related field (completed or thesis submitted before the start date). • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and top-tier conferences relevant to the research domain. • Proficiency in Python or other relevant programming languages (e.g., R, Julia, C++), with experience in software development, version control, and reproducible research practices. • Expertise in machine learning, optimization, and/or predictive analytics, with a solid understanding of key methodologies and frameworks. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven environment. Essential for Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher: • Demonstrated research leadership, evidenced by completion of at least one postdoctoral fellowship or equivalent research experience in academia, industry, or research labs. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their demonstration of meeting every essential criterion.
