Job description

Offer DescriptionThe postdoctoral fellow will participate in the research work of LIRAES axis 1, entitled economic evaluation of healthcare policies and systems, which is developing several research themes around the analysis of long-term care policies for elderly people at home or in institutions (supply and demand for care, prevention, long-term care insurance), the economic evaluation of healthcare programs and care pathways (early evaluation, cost-utility analysis, equivalent income, evaluation of public policies), the study of primary or secondary prevention behaviors and policies (prevention determinants and attitudes, preferences, evaluation of systems). The post-doc will be supervised by Pauline Chauvin and Jonathan Sicsic, both lecturers at LIRAES and qualified to direct research in economics. The post-doc will also interact with three other post-docs in health economics working within the AgingUP! Chair at LIRAES, on the measurement of preferences for long-term care and loss-of-autonomy prevention policies. The position is attached to the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Recherche Appliquée en Économie-Gestion et Santé – LIRAES (URP 4470), headed by Olivier Musy (PR Université Paris Cité). LIRAES is a research unit that brings together professors and researchers in economics, management and accounting at Université Paris Cité.Website:Project title: Measuring the well-being of the elderly for economic evaluations: estimating the preferences of the French population. This eighteen-month postdoctoral project aims to develop a tool for measuring well-being in the context of economic evaluations, the ICECAP (Investigating Choice Experiments CAPability). This questionnaire competes with the EQ-5D (EuroQol 5 Dimensions), currently recommended by the French National Authority for Health (HAS), for measuring well-being in the context of economic evaluations of healthcare programs. ICECAP has the advantage of being based on a broader definition of well-being than the EQ-5D, founded on the concept of capabilities introduced by Nobel Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen. This makes ICECAP more suitable for assessing interventions combining health and social care, or where there are spillover effects on family, carers or the general public. The aim of the project is to estimate the preferences of the French population for the different dimensions of ICECAP, so that it can be used to demonstrate the efficiency of health and social care programs in France, particularly for programs aimed at preventing loss of autonomy. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for:(1) Conducting an original national survey on the preferences of the French population for the various dimensions of ICECAP-A (literature review, questionnaire design and pre-testing)(2) Estimate from this survey the valuation matrix for the various ICECAP-A dimensions, using discrete choice models (DCE) or best-worst scaling (BWS).(3) Write one or more scientific articles based on these results. The project will be supervised by researchers from the Laboratoire interdisciplinaire de recherche appliquée en Économie- Gestion et Santé (LIRAES).RequirementsResearch Field Economics » Health economics Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsTheoretical knowledge:– Concepts and methods of health economics– Statistical analysis and public policy evaluation methods– Preference revelation methods (DCE, BWS)Know-how – Operational skills:– Mastery of Stata or R software– Documentary research methodology– Writing scientific articles for international peer-reviewed journals– Written and spoken EnglishAttitudinal skills:– Scientific rigor and organizational skills– Human relations skills and ability to make proposalsLanguages ENGLISH Level ExcellentAdditional InformationWork Location(s)Number of offers available 1 Company/Institute Université Paris Cité Country France City Paris Postal Code 75006 Street Rue des Saints Pères GeofieldWhere to apply WebsiteContact CityPARIS WebsiteStreet85 boulevard Saint-Germain Postal Code75006 E-Mail[email protected]STATUS: EXPIRED
