  • documented experience in conducting research in microbiology, mycology or molecular biology,
  • experience in either library preparation and optimisation for next generation sequencing (preferred) or molecular diagnostics of fungi and bacteria including derivation and maintainenance of fungal cultures,
  • preferred: additional experience in fungal genomics (in vitro or in silico), focus on secondary metabolite biosynthesis,
  • active participation in scientific life in the form of giving lectures and presentations at scientific conferences, supervising junior researchers or participating in research projects,
  • documented experience in preparation of manuscripts for the international scientific journals

Main Responsibilities * collaborative design and optimisation of in vitro enrichment protocol for next generation sequencing library preparations,

  • annotation of biosynthetic gene and cluster subsequences,
  • environmental sampling,
  • culturing of fungal isolates from environmental samples,
  • eDNA extraction, purification and quality control,
  • supervision of a younger co-investigator within the project during experimental parts of the project
  • drafting and editing manuscripts on research results
