Job description

Job Description:We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the development of advanced mechatronic and embedded control systems for robotic applications. You will work on designing cutting-edge electronics and embedded systems, integrating them with innovative robotic platforms, and deploying them in real-world environments. The position is for 24 months and will focus on the development of high-performance embedded controllers (both hardware and software development), real-time systems, and low-level software for robotic applications in demanding conditions, such as mining, industrial automation, and field robotics.Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to design, develop, and implement custom electronic and embedded control systems for cutting-edge robotic applications. You will be responsible for creating efficient real-time control software and interfacing embedded hardware with various robot frameworks. Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure robust deployment and validation of these systems in real-world environments, contributing actively to research documentation and dissemination.Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom electronic hardware and embedded control systems for robots.
  • Implement and optimize real-time algorithms and embedded software.
  • Interface hardware components with robotic middleware (e.g., ROS2, PX4).
  • Ensure reliable deployment and testing in realistic, sometimes harsh, operational conditions.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent) in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
  • Expertise in PCB design, microcontrollers, real-time programming (C/C++), and embedded software.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration, sensor-actuator interfaces, and debugging.
