Job description
Job Category: VIP BJob Description:The Micro medical devices and hardware hacking-based technology (MIDAS) group at DTU Health Tech is seeking a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our groundbreaking ATHENA project (Artificial Intelligence Towards Holistic Evaluation of Skin Nanotexture Alterations). This international collaborative project aims to develop novel diagnostic tools for various skin conditions including psoriasis, hand eczema, and actinic keratosis through advanced stratum corneum nanotexture analysis. We are looking for an exceptional candidate with expertise in instrumentation development, particularly in LabVIEW and C++ programming for high-precision measurement systems. As a key member of our team, you will lead the development and optimization of our high-speed dermal atomic force microscope (HS-DAFM) control software and signal processing circuits. These systems are critical for capturing high-quality nanotexture images from skin samples collected across five countries and four continents. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering and dermatological research, with direct impact on improving diagnostic capabilities for challenging skin conditions. You will collaborate with leading researchers in dermatology, medical imaging, and artificial intelligence from prestigious institutions in Denmark, the Netherlands, Taiwan, the United States, and Australia. As a postdoctoral researcher on the ATHENA project, you will be responsible for the technical development of our high-speed dermal atomic force microscope (HS-DAFM) system, with a primary focus on software architecture and signal processing. You will work closely with our international team of collaborators to ensure the system meets the rigorous requirements for clinical skin sample analysis.Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing advanced LabVIEW and C++ based control software for our HS-DAFM platform
- Developing specialized signal processing algorithms and circuits to enhance imaging quality and speed
- Creating efficient data acquisition and processing workflows for large datasets of skin nanotexture images
- Optimizing hardware-software integration for robust performance in various clinical settings
- Collaborating with dermatologists and AI specialists to improve system usability and output quality
- Documenting system architecture and providing technical support to project partners
- Contributing to scientific publications and presentations at international conferences
