Offer DescriptionThe POLYMERS & SOFT MATTER Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (18 months) starting on July 1st, to work with Dr. Jon Maiz, in collaboration with Dr. Guiomar Hernández from Uppsala University (Sweden), Dr. Irune Villaluenga (POLYMAT) and Dr. Robert Aguirresarobe (UPV/EHU), focusing on the development of advanced solid polymer electrolyte structures (block copolymers), and their characterization. The aim is to understand how polymer segmental dynamics, ion-polymer interactions, and residual solvents influence ion mobility and overall ionic conductivity. This is achieved using complementary techniques such as neutron scattering, rheology, and dielectric spectroscopy. This position will be partially funded by the IKUR Strategy-Neutrionics 2025-2026 of the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque Government.Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering, preferably with a focus on polymers and battery characterization. Expertise in polymer characterization is highly valued for this position, particularly experience with dielectric spectroscopy, rheology, scattering techniques (e.g., neutron or X ray), and various microscopy methods.
