Offer DescriptionThe Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on the INTERCAMBIO project (Interventions to promote mental and physical health in changing working environments due to climate change, sustainable work practices, and in green jobs). INTERCAMBIO has received funding from the European Commission (101137149) under the call HORIZON-HLTH-2023-ENVHLTH-02-02 – “Evidence-based interventions for promotion of mental and physical health in changing working environments (post-pandemic workplaces)”. The postdoctoral researcher will work on a project that will assess relevant occupational exposures among workers in different industries, evaluate associated health effects, co-design with workers interventions to prevent those health effects, and implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and follow research protocols for the study, including the design of questionnaires and other data collection tools.
  • Coordinate and participate in the fieldwork in workplaces with workers in a range of industries.
  • Participate in cleaning the data.
  • Perform statistical analysis to address the epidemiological research questions.
  • Write scientific papers describing the results.
  • Participate in project meetings and present project results in scientific conferences.

  • PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Sciences, Statistics or similar areas.
  • Experience in fieldwork in occupational epidemiology studies as well as in data management, and statistics.
  • Self-motivation, eagerness to grow professionally and commitment to self-development
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

LANGUAGE LEVEL

  • Spanish and Catalan.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person’s skills and CV.
2 – Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview.
