Job description

Offer DescriptionThe postdoctoral fellow will work within the Euclid teamat the APC laboratory and contribute to the development in the ground segment of algorithms and operations for the photometric validation of combined Euclid and LSST data, as well as for photometric redshifts and cluster detection. The postdoctorant will have a research activity focused on galaxy clusters or galaxy formation and evolution.– LSST image simulations over the regions covered by Euclid simulationswith the aim of generating a dataset to test data processing pipelines for LSST and Euclid, as well as Machine Learning algorithms for photometric redshift estimation and cluster detection.
– Processing of external Euclid Data from Rubin/LSST and estimation of photometric redshifts.
– Estimation of photometric redshifts and detection of galaxy clusters. The Astroparticle and Cosmology (APC) laboratory of University Paris Cité is pleased to announce one postdoctoral position dedicated to the Euclid space mission.
The APC is heavily engaged in science preparation and ground segment development and operations of the mission.
We are seeking candidates eager to work with our team in the development of the Euclid ground segment, specifically on LSST image simulations, test of Machine Learning networks for estimating photometric redshifts and the validation and analysis of data from Rubin/LSST used by the Euclid consortium.RequirementsResearch Field Physics Education Level PhD or equivalentLanguages FRENCH Level BasicResearch Field Physics Years of Research Experience 1 – 4Additional InformationEligibility criteria– Simulations
