If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.Postdoctoral Research Scientist – Developmental and reproductive toxicity prediction(M/F/D)Lieu: Sophia, Alpes Maritimes, FREntreprise: Bayer AGFor this project, you will join an interdisciplinary team composed of toxicologists, molecular biologists, automation experts and data scientists within the Toxicology department of Bayer CropScience in close collaboration with members of other international Bayer entities and academic institutions.YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the implementation of an in vitro testing battery to screen and de-risk developmental and reproductive toxicity.
- Develop a pipeline to interpret omics data sets in order to drive mechanistic-based approaches
- Review appropriate literature pertaining to current or proposed projects
- Review reports for in vivo developmental toxicity studies and populate internal database
- Independently plan, analyze, interpret your data analysis, set-up critical path and path-forward
- Evaluate the implementation of an in-silico model in the testing battery
- Communicate and report study findings, results, analyses, and future direction to project partners (to direct manager & collaborators)
- Actively collaborate with experienced Research Toxicologists to set up experiments and drive data analysis and interpretation
- Actively collaborate with toxicokinetic experts to include exposure information into the testing battery
- Participate in project meetings and active scientific exchange with internal and external scientific communities
WHO YOU AREEducation:
- PhD in bioinformatics, cellular biology, biology, toxicology, or related disciplines
- 2 years of experience in academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology settings.
Skills:
- 2 years of experience in academic, pharmaceutical, agrochemical or biotechnology settings
- Experience in working with multi-omics data in biological contexts
- Experience in high content screening technology (384 wells), and high throughput quantitative data analysis
- Demonstrated experience with global multi-disciplinary teams
- Accurate and precise worker with strong analytical and problem solving skills (creative, critical, out-of-the-box thinker)
- Strong personal organization skills are required
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills and proficient in English, basic knowledge of French is an advantage
- Team player with the ability to work independently to drive projects
Additional considerations:
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and motivation to implement innovative scientific strategy and lab operations
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, and provide possible solutions
- Capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
