  • You will perform data analysis, with a focus on mass spectrometry-based proteomics data. The type of data that you will work with include clinical proteomics data, proteogenomics data, structural proteomics data and single-cell proteomics data. You will compare different data analysis pipelines tailored to the analysis of different datasets and establish standardized data analysis flows. You will educate other members of the lab to use these data analysis flows.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a thesis-based doctorate in the field of life sciences with a focus on bioinformatics.
  • You have proven experience with analysis of mass spectrometry-based proteomics data, including the analysis of label-free quantitative proteomics data, multiplexed proteomics data, and DDA and DIA data.
  • You have knowledge of different search engines for proteomics data (e.g., MaxQuant, DIA-NN, FragPipe, Spectronaut, …).
  • You have thorough understanding of proteomics sample preparation.
  • Amongst others, your task will be to create data analysis pipelines and visualizations, implying that you will need to be interested in developing novel analysis strategies.
  • Experience with clinical data integration and statistical modelling of complex experimental designs (e.g. multivariate designs, mixed effects, regularized regression models) is considered an asset.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for a period from two years.
  • Your contract will start on 17/06/2024 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).
