By increasing research capacity, we aim to strengthen our ability to produce high-quality, actionable evidence that shapes healthcare policy and supports innovation in the retina community.Retina International is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team. This role is a strategic investment in our capacity to conduct independent, high-quality research that advances our understanding of retinal degenerative diseases and their broader impact on mental, psychological, and cognitive health.Our research has been instrumental in shaping healthcare policy and guiding industry, clinical, and patient communities. As we expand our efforts, we are looking for a dedicated researcher with expertise in qualitative and quantitative methodologies, survey design, evidence synthesis, and data analysis to contribute to interdisciplinary projects and enhance our research impact. Please note this is not a laboratory based role.Job Title:Postdoctoral ResearcherJob Purpose:Lead multidisciplinary research studies in retinal degenerative diseasesContract Type:Fixed Term Contract 12 MonthsReporting to:Head of Research and ProgrammesJob Location:Dublin, HybridSalary:CompetitiveKey ResponsibilitiesDesign and conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies related to retinal degenerative diseases.Implement big data analysis techniques to manage and analyse large datasets effectively.Develop and administer surveys, including instrument design, sampling strategies, and data collection.Conduct systematic reviews, including narrative, scoping, and evidence synthesis.Analyze data using statistical and computational tools to generate actionable insights.Prepare high-quality research publications and present findings at academic conferences and industry seminars.Collaborate with stakeholders, including academia, industry, clinicians, and patient organizations, to advance research initiatives.QualificationsEssential Qualifications:Ph.D. in Medical and Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.Strong expertise in quantitative research methods and statistical analysis.Experience with qualitative research methodologies and analysis.Proficiency in survey design, implementation, and analysis.Experience conducting evidence synthesis, including systematic reviews.Demonstrated ability to analyse large datasets and registries.Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong understanding of Public and Patient Involvement in Research.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata).Experience with qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).Familiarity with systematic review platforms (e.g., Covidence, RevMan).Experience using survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).Strong data visualization skills for effective research communication.Application InstructionsInterested candidates should submit the following:1.
