Job description
VHIR offers a position for a Postdoctoral Researcher with a background in Human Genetics for the Medicine Genetics Research Group.Education and qualifications:Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Biomedicine; a Master’s degree in Genetics and a PhD in Genetics are required
- Specific training in Diagnostic Genetics
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English (both spoken and written)
Experience and knowledge:Required:
- At least 2 years of experience working in a Diagnostic Genetics lab
- Experience conducting functional studies to validate genetic variants
- Proficiency in genetic matchmaking platforms (Matchmaker Exchange, GeneMatcher, …)
- Excellent skills in science dissemination activities
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Coordinate the Matchmaker exchange platform for all the undiagnosed cases with whole exome sequencing (WES) in the Genetics Area of Vall Hebron Hospital
- Coordination of projects within international consortia dedicated to functional studies and/or cohort descriptions for the identification of new genes associated with disease
- Develop and present comprehensive insights to drive new potential genetic diagnoses
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary group
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: June 2025
- Gross annual salary: 24.785,40 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
