- We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our growing team and management group focused on Bioresource Recovery.
- This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in innovative nutrient recovery research while contributing to the management and coordination of high-impact international projects.
- The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our nutrient recovery research lines and ensuring the smooth execution of managerial and operational aspects.
- The postdoc will also take on significant responsibilities in managing and coordinating Horizon Europe projects. In the AQUAGRINOW project, the candidate will act as UGent’s work package lead, preparing educational materials, disseminating information, and advocating knowledge on efficient water management practices. For the NOVAFERT project, the postdoc will oversee daily management as the project coordinator, ensuring deliverables are submitted on time, milestones are met, and project partners collaborate effectively. Additionally, the candidate will compile and write project reports and organize partner meetings. In the BioSoilution project, the postdoc will manage UGent’s tasks, focusing on evaluating the agronomic benefits of soil improvers and coordinating living lab activities.
- Beyond these Horizon Europe projects, the candidate will coordinate the International Thematic Network (ITN) – Resource.Bio, an international collaboration that brings together visiting and joint PhD researchers in the resource recovery domain.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant field, such as environmental sciences, bioresource recovery, and have proven research experience in nutrient recovery or related topics.
- You have mastered the English language, both in writing skills and oral presentations.
- You have the required communicative skills to interact independently with the scientific, business and farming communities
- Experience with international collaborative research projects.
- You have project management experience as a work package leader, particularly with working in international consortia (e.g. EU projects).
- You take responsibility for the managing and execution of your project in a well-structured, thorough way, both by solving problems independently with good time management and by instructing and collaborating with others

- We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 9 months
- Your contract will start on 27/03/2025 at the earliest.

- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).
