Offer DescriptionThe 3BIO-BioMatter Unit at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) invites applications for a 1.5-year postdoctoral position in the field of advanced biofabrication, tumor microenvironment modeling, and cancer biology. This position is part of a project focused on developing a 3D vascularized, lymph-integrated, microbiome-relevant colorectal cancer model using volumetric bioprinting and complex cellular co-cultures.The successful candidate will contribute to the engineering of a polyp-like colorectal cancer (CRC) model that integrates perfusable vascular and lymphatic networks, heterotypic CRC spheroids, and bacterial cultures to simulate the native tumor microenvironment. - Experience in cell culture, hydrogel systems, or bioprinting technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge in tumor biology, especially colorectal cancer or tumor-immune interactions.
- Hands-on expertise in microfabrication, bioresin synthesis, or volumetric bioprinting.
- Familiarity with bacterial co-culture, microbiome studies, or immunological assays is a plus.
- Competence in imaging techniques such as confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM).
- Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
Specific Requirements
- Experience with multi-cell type spheroid formation and vascular/lymphatic endothelial culture.
- Ability to handle perfusion systems and quantitative analysis of oxygen/nutrient gradients.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques (RNAseq, proteomics) is advantageous.
