Offer DescriptionApplications are invited for an appointment as postdoctoral researcher in biomedical sensing in the ARC Hub for HealthTech.The postdoctoral researcher will play a critical role in advancing the commercialisation of the project Smart Surgical Mesh in the ARC-funded Translational Research Project (TP07).The Research Ireland ARC Hub for HealthTech is a collaborative initiative between the University of Galway, Atlantic Technological University and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, to guide academic projects in the MedTech and Connected Health sectors to commercial success on a national scale in conjunction with other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Republic of Ireland. The ARC Hub for Health Tech will support the translation of cutting-edge research into real-world applications and equip innovators with the knowledge and acumen needed to bring transformative healthcare technologies to market. - PhD (or equivalent*) in in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
- Expertise in sensing technologies relevant to biomedical sensing, especially electrochemical sensing, fibreoptic sensing etc.
- Hands-on experience in sensor fabrication, circuit integration & testing (e.g., microfabrication, lab validation).
- Ability to work across disciplines (materials, electronics, biology).
- EU defines PhD equivalent 4 years fulltime research after primary degree
