Through top scientific research, we push back boundaries and set a course for the future – a future that you can help to shape.The Department of Physics in the Faculty of Science is looking for a full-time (100%) postdoctoral researcher in the field of inverse problems and computational imaging.PositionThe Vision Lab at the University of Antwerp ( ) has an open position for a postdoctoral researcher to strengthen our tomography research team with, for this position, a particular emphasis on computational imaging and deep learning. Tomography is an image reconstruction technique that leans strongly on large-scale numerical mathematics and computational science. It has a wide range of applications in medicine (CT-scans), industry (nondestructive testing) and science (3D imaging of nanomaterials).The researcher will contribute to the development of a radically new method for 3D reconstruction of nanomaterial scans. The technique will be dedicated to the analysis of semiconductor samples in close collaboration with imec Belgium ( ) (prof. C. Fleischmann).Profile

  • You hold a PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics or engineering (or you will have obtained it by the time you start work).
  • You have experience with coding in C++, python/matlab. GPU programming is a definite plus.
  • You have experience in applying deep learning to solve computational imaging problems.
  • Experience with inverse problems such as tomographic reconstruction is also a plus.

  • We offer a full-time contract as a postdoctoral researcher for a period of 1 year (extendable upon yearly evaluation) in preparation of a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship.
