Offer DescriptionIMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Researcher Position for the Photoactivated Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates tfor the development of artificial intelligence tools focused on the automation of material synthesis processes and their evaluation in solar fuel production processes.Contract funded by “Comunidad de Madrid” in the framework of the FotoArt5.0-CM project (TEC-2024/TEC-308), through the R&D activities programme “Tecnologías 2024”.The candidate will join the Photoactivated Processes Unit in which an artificial intelligence laboratory for energy has been set up, with its line of research being the development of new materials and production processes that fuel and sustainable chemical products assisted by technologies of digitization-robotization. The activities of the technician will focus on:Tasks Description:

• The development of hardware and software tools necessary to carry out the processes of synthesis of materials and their evaluation by means of robotic systems assisted by Machine Learning (ML) algorithms.
• Selection, start-up and maintenance of new automation equipment, as well as optimal workflow design for the tasks of synthesis and evaluation of materials.
• Integration of robotic systems including programming them to perform the defined tasks.
• Combination with decision-making tools based on Machine learning algorithms.
• Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in international conferences, etc.
• Supervision of Master or undergraduate students.

• Oral and written communication skills in English.

• Remuneration: Between 39.000€ – 42.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
