The primary goal of the project is to develop new methodologies for the characterization and analysis of messenger RNA (mRNA) applied in vaccines, with a particular focus on the use of liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS) equipment. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in this field, participating in the optimization of advanced analytical techniques to study complex biomolecules such as mRNA.The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Laboratory work related to the preparation and treatment of mRNA samples for analysis using liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS) techniques.
- Assisting in the development and optimization of analytical methodologies for the characterization of mRNA.
- Operation and optimization of LC-MS equipment.
- Analysis and interpretation of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry data.
- Writing technical and scientific reports on experimental results.
- Collaborating with other researchers on the project and contributing to scientific publications.
Conditions:
- Full-time (38,5 h/week).
- Incorporation immediately.
This project is financed by TRANSCAN Joint Transnational Call 2022, European Union.Experience and knowledge.Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques.
- Interest in developing skills in the field of analytical chemistry and biomolecular analysis.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Good level of English.
Desired
- Familiarity with the analysis of nucleic acids (such as RNA or mRNA).
- Laboratory experience in handling biomolecules, ideally nucleic acids (such as RNA or DNA) and knowledge of RNA extraction and purification techniques.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary research environments.
- Experience applying analytical chemistry techniques to the characterization of complex biomolecules.
