Primary SEN Teacher (Telford) Location: Telford Pay: Paid to scale Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Primary SEN Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Telford area. This school provides tailored education for primary-aged students with complex SEN needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), physical disabilities, and profound learning difficulties. If you are a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting young learners with additional needs and have experience in this area, we would love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching to students with a variety of complex SEN needs, including ASD, physical disabilities, and profound learning difficulties.
- Plan, differentiate, and deliver lessons that meet the individual learning needs of each student, ensuring progress is made in line with their personal development goals.
- Support the development of students’ communication, social, emotional, and physical skills, using a range of strategies and interventions tailored to each child’s needs.
- Collaborate with the SEN team, teaching assistants, and external professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, supported, and engaged.
- Assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as necessary to ensure continued development.
- Promote student independence, encouraging self-esteem and confidence.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Key Skills Needed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching students with complex SEN needs (including ASD, physical disabilities, and profound learning difficulties) in a primary setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of strategies and interventions to support students with complex medical, physical, and emotional needs.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and professionals.
- Ability to differentiate teaching materials and approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive, nurturing attitude.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child protection.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching primary-aged students with complex SEN needs is essential.
- A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
- Availability for a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
