Principal Electrical Critical Systems Design Engineer – Data Centres – DublinOffice/Project Location: Dublin CityEmployment Type: PermanentWork Location: Office Based / HybridPay: €80k – €90kExperience: 8+ yearsVisa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa requiredOur client is an international multi-disciplinary consultancy operating from over 20 locations across the globe.Due to increased workload, they are seeking to appoint a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to take up a principal role with Dublin teamAs part of our established team of expert engineers, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare both scheme and detailed engineering designs for electrical systems (MV, LV, essential power / back-up power, electrical building services including life safety services, etc) for major data centre and other critical systems projects.The role will involve working mostly on data centre projects ranging from plant upgrades through to 100MW+ hyperscale projects.Manage engineering designs in line with client brief and/or other project requirementsReview and provide feedback on designs produced by more junior staffMonitor resourcing requirements for projects and provide feedback to Associates / PartnersUnder the guidance of a more experienced manager, contribute to the day-to-day management and control of projects (including commercial and financial management, project management, and compliance with QA, environmental and health and safety procedures)Provide training and coaching to more junior staff, including acting as a mentor to support those pursuing membership of professional institutionsAttend internal and/or external marketing and business development events as appropriateContribute to the preparation of submissions and fee bidsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clientsContribute to Practice-wide technical initiatives (such as the development of technical standards, software development, knowledge sharing etc)RequirementsDegree level (minimum level 8) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng or equivalent)Chartered Engineer desired, if not currently, you will be supported towards Chartership.Proven track record in the concept design and delivery of multiple largescale critical infrastructure projects, preferably in a data centre / critical systems and /or other mission critical contextProven experience of detailed coordination with other design disciplines, well-versed in theory behind and use of relevant design software including Amtech, ETAPS or SKM power systems analysis software.Proven ability in producing schematic diagrams, fault and discrimination studies, preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, and detail design development, and crucially – you have a passion for accurate design of electrical systems.A collaborative leader and role model; sharing knowledge, experience and expertise, whilst contributing to the development of a robust, diverse and motivated teamPackageSalary €80k – €90k based experience, negotiable for the right candidates.In addition, a comprehensive company benefits package which includes, regular pay reviews, profit share scheme, Pension & Health plans, professional subs, flexible working hours, early Friday finish, Gym membership, and much more.This a permanent staff role offering a great career path supported with ongoing CPD assistanceContactAndrew Taylor is the consultant managing this position.If you are a Electrical Design Engineer interested in roles based in Dublin, you can contact Andrew by e-mail at andrew@jobcontax.com or phone +353-1-5310097 for a confidential chat.JobContax do not send CVs to clients without candidate permission.With over 50 years of technical recruitment experience, JobContax is the leading recruiter of Electrical Design Engineers in Dublin and IrelandDue to the large volume of applications, JobContax may not be able to respond directly to every individual.tagmep
