In line with this transformation, we are building our Engineering, Operational Excellence & Environmental, Health, and Safety department, while attracting additional talents.As a Principal Facilities, Maintenance & EHS Engineer you will play a central role in continuously improving reliability and safety in our value stream, using your observations on the shopfloor and your data analysis skills. Through your coordinating and prioritizing expertise, you will assure strong alignment with internal customers and various other stakeholders. You will report to the Manager Engineering, OpEx and EHS. This is an on-site role based at our manufacturing operations site in Kerkrade (The Netherlands), but you will be inspired to occasionally (once or twice per year) visit other international Medtronic locations to share best practices.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Coordinate and follow-up on maintenance-, calibration- and repair activities for all on-site equipment, machinery, buildings, structures and other facilities
- Design, implement and execute structures for Maintenance Excellence and Environmental, Health, and Safety Excellence, aligned with Medtronic Performance System (MPS)
- Develop and deploy security and business continuity programs in compliance with Medtronic policies
- Schedule and assign all maintenance-, calibration- and repair actions to on-site Facilities and EHS staff and act as central point of contact for all stakeholders
- Coordinate third-party contractors and supervise the on-site Safety Team and Emergency Response Team
- Deploy Computerized Maintenance Management System and Hazard Observations Management System and coordinate capital investment planning
- Document maintenance-, calibration- and repair procedures and train staff accordingly
- Coordinate, report and follow-up on safety Gemba walks and troubleshooting activities
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Extensive work experience in similar roles in a production environment and affinity with medical devices or other regulated, systems-structured industries
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Strong knowledge of facilities management and equipment- and machinery maintenance in manufacturing industries
- Demonstrable successes in deploying continuous improvement structures and Maintenance Excellence
- Strong affinity with Environmental, Health and Safety best practices, preferable knowledge of related legislation
- Well-developed skills in project management and in data analysis, advanced knowledge of Office 365, EHS-management software aa well as service ticketing applications
- Strong proficiency in English (oral and written), Dutch language skills are preferred
