The Role:

 

The focus of this role is to advance our aims on business and human rights.  You will engage with key stakeholders in multiple sectors including food, agriculture, and apparel industry. Develop comprehensive strategies for corporate lobbying and secure industry support for climate justice and gender justice; by utilizing your experience in lobbying, corporate engagement, and business & human rights.

 

  • Developing corporate lobbying strategies, including engaging supportive and opposing stakeholders, in support of Oxfam’s strategic priorities which include Climate Justice and Valuing Women’s Work.

 

  • Building and maintaining relationships with industry, consortiums and engage with lobbyists.

 

  • Collaborating with policy teams at Oxfam across our priorities of Valuing Women’s Work and Climate Justice.

 

  • Contribute to data and policy analysis evidence of how private sector companies impact on Oxfam’s priority themes and have the potential to contribute to poverty reduction and social justice.

 

  • External representation in lobby meetings, conferences, potentially the media.

 

  • Regular interaction with and relationship management of companies.

 

  • Support, coordinate and collaborate with colleagues across Oxfam GB and those working in country teams and other Oxfam affiliates to enable and help deliver effective influencing strategies across local-national-regional-global levels.

 

  • Capture and share relevant information and learning with colleagues.

 

 

What we are looking for:

 

An experienced individual, preferably someone used to work in a large INGO, with knowledge and experience of business and human rights.

 

We would particularly value an individual who has:

 

  • Experience of working in and/or with the private sector.
  • Experience of working with labour unions and or worker representation.
  • Experience working across multiple projects and able to adapt to diverse needs.
  • Working knowledge of climate justice and gender justice.
  • Experience with research and developing company rankings and scorecards.
