At Open GI we are reimagining our product strategy and looking for a passionate Product Manager to help shape the future of insurance innovation.As a Product Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to design and deliver game-changing products that truly meet the evolving needs of our customers. With your expertise in product development, design, and data analytics, you’ll drive the creation of high-impact products from concept to launch, ensuring every step is aligned with customer insights and business objectives.You’ll be the voice of the customer – knowing them intimately through strong customer engagement and insight, championing new offerings and overseeing the entire product lifecycle. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life, ensuring scalability, reliability, and outstanding customer experiences. Your ability to balance innovation with practical execution will be key to delivering exceptional results and exceeding customer expectations.Your key responsibilities

  • Own the product, driving collaboration and best practice across the product engineering team as well seasoned product champion
  • Develop the product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
  • Build the framework and track the product’s key success metrics such as feature and functionality value against target segments, and reliability of performance for scale
  • Lead continuous improvement to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimisation, ensuring seamless product execution
  • Own, maintain, and develop the product backlog, enabling the development of the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
  • Be accountable for epic and feature definition, ensuring the vision is met through discovery and the product teams are engaged at the right time with the right information
  • Coach and support product owners on the job, driving high performance and quality throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Support and get involved hands-on with product ceremonies, discovery, customer insight sessions and drive best practice on the ground with the teams
  • Nurture a thriving community of product owners and get the business excited about product engineering
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, sales and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the product life cycle, driving cohesive product engineering

Qualifications

  • Insurance industry knowledge – certifications or experience within the insurance industry (such as CII)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, product management, engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Certified scrum product owner and/or product management/owner certifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain
  • Experience within the insurance sector and/or domains such as claims, policy administration, broker, digital (AI/Chatbots/Website incl. self-service)
  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition
  • Proven experience in value stream mapping, analysis, and optimisation to drive continuous improvement and deliver maximum value
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and Agile methodologies, with the ability to apply these frameworks
  • Experienced customer relationship communication/negotiation skills with the ability to work passionately to get the job done.
