Established over 30 years ago my client is one of Ireland’s premier animal feedstuffs producers with a range of products designed for improved animal health. My client produces an ever expanding portfolio of different products and due to a rapidly increasing international client base and a very strong NPD pipeline the last 10 years has seen the division post some very impressive year on year growth figures with the best yet to come!They are currently looking for a Production Planner to join them on their site based on the outskirts of Cork City. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Planner with experience in a manufacturing environment to grow on their career.They offer a competitive salary with fantastic benefits as well as opportunities for career development.The duties for the Production Planner include but are not limited to:Work in conjunction with operations to schedule in the most cost effective way to drive over all operational efficiency

  • Planning production teams daily activities, overseeing and supervising production staff
  • Generating and maintaining manufacturing schedules and capacity data
  • Planning and monitoring the capacity of equipment / facilities to optimise productivity.
  • Assisting in the review of incoming sales orders with respect to order fulfilment. Promote a culture of putting ‘’the customer first’’.
  • Liaising with purchasing to ensure and monitor supply chain delivery
  • Ensuring stock management in the facility is optimised
  • Work in conjunction with Quality to ensure Product Quality and compliance with the Quality system at all times. Promote a culture of doing it ‘’right first time’’.
  • Ensure that all the production documentation is completed in accordance with Quality Standards
  • Collaborate in internal and external audits (UFAS)
  • Supporting Department of Agriculture compliance with Quality
  • Ensuring the safe working practices and conduct of the team and contractors.
  • Providing daily, weekly and monthly production analysis for comparing the forecast to the capacity model
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant in areas of stock management Production, Safety, Cost
  • Monitoring and controlling costs within agreed budget.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

The requirements for the desired Production Planner include:

  • Previous experience in an Operations / Production Management capacity in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to consistently deliver results, demonstrate ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment in one or more of the following industries is an advantage – food or pharmaceutical.
  • Demonstrate a very high degree of both understanding and ability, in planning and the manufacturing process.
  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering or relevant qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of production planning, scheduling housekeeping, health and safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience of people management and demonstrated ability in people motivation, organizing and team building would be a distinct advantage
  • Solid record of attention to detail and strict adherence to procedures.
