The University of South Wales (USW) is offering a unique opportunity to lead the strategic direction of the Hydra Research and Innovation Centre within the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education. This role will work closely with the partner organisation, the Hydra Foundation, and the Research Professor within the Centre, to lead the development and implementation of the research and business development strategy for the Centre.

Based at Newport, with the requirement to travel regularly, this exciting new role will require the post holder to utilise a range of strategic negotiation and influencing skills in the arena of ‘save life’ organisations. With demonstrable experience of working at a strategic level, you will develop local, regional, and international links with senior leaders of external organisations, to horizon scan, prioritise, and maximise the use of research capabilities for the meaningful enhancement of policy and practice in the public sector.

This is a full time, permanent role and while the University is currently operating a hybrid-model of working, the successful candidate will be expected to work on campus for part of the week.

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
