The Role:

 

The purpose of this position is to lead the delivery of the GBV Prevention and Response Program taking a participatory approach to strengthen the ecosystem which addresses GBV for at-risk groups and survivors in the donor’s geographic focus area of HoA.

  • Extensive understanding of the cultural, socio-economic, and political context of the appointed region.
  • Strong financial acumen to manage complex budgets effectively and transparently.
  • Master’s degree in health and/or gender studies, project management, social sciences, international development, or another relevant field or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in project management, design and implementation, budget and line management, and commercial contract experience, of programmed with similar scope related to gender justice, including prior experience as a Team Leader, Chief of Party, Country Representative or similar.
  • 10 years of professional experience in the development, humanitarian or peace and conflict sector, and specifically the health sector with expertise in GBV or protection preferably with L/NNGOs, INGOs. Experience with SDC is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical capacity and ability for innovation and unconventional and innovative solutions.
  • Professional experience in the Horn of Africa Region, preferably in Somalia, the Somali Region of Ethiopia, and North-Eastern Kenya or in regions with comparable context.
  • Complementary experiences, and skills for ensuring sustainability of the project results.
  • Full fluency in English. Fluency/strong working knowledge in an additional relevant national or regional language is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience in managing programmes in situations of protracted crisis.
  • Demonstrated ability in working independently and as part of a team both in-person and remotely.
  • Serve as the focal point for coordination with country teams, Oxfam and the donor.
  • Strong experience in fund management.
