The Role:

 

Oxfam in Bangladesh is looking for a Project Assistant who will will support the CACS project’s goal of enhancing climate change adaptation through inclusive ecosystem management. The position will cover activities including research, data analysis, manuscript development, organizing workshops, and leading community engagement to ensure effective and sustainable project implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Co-design research with the community and support participatory data collection from the field and analysis using appropriate research methods and techniques in adherence to Oxfam policies.
  • Analyze and interpret geospatial data (satellite and aerial imagery), including image processing, performing spatial analysis, creating maps, and generating analytical reports.
  • Organize and facilitate training, workshops, and dialogues with local and national stakeholders and support administrative works.
  • Develop write-ups for journal articles, and reports to reach the wider audience and scholarly community.
  • Community consultation in the study area and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis utilizing primary and secondary data.
  • Conduct research work, which will include tasks such as developing manuscripts for publication, performing statistical analysis, literature reviews, and gathering data to support project objectives.

Coordinate meetings, interviews, workshops, and communication with partners and multi-stakeholders at both national and local levels.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:

•    A bachelor’s degree in any Environmental science/ Geography / Forestry/ Marine and Fisheries/ Urban planning / Water Resource or related disciplines can apply.
•    At least one year of relevant experience with NGOs/Research organizations.
•    Sound GIS and remote sensing skills.
•    Good understanding of ecosystem resources and climate adaptation. 
•    Openness, agility, and willingness to work with the community.
