Project Manager Opportunity – Major Infrastructure ProjectRed Sky Personnel is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a high-profile civil engineering project in the North East region. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading UK construction company specialising in delivering complex infrastructure projects.Location: Site-based in the North East RegionContract Type: PermanentSalary/Rate: Up to £90,000 p/a dependent on experienceKey Responsibilities:
- Lead site operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
- Maximise the commercial performance of the contract through proactive management.
- Develop procurement schedules and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely resource availability.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, keeping stakeholders informed of changes and managing project scope rigorously, including unplanned work or resource adjustments.
- Identify and report risks and opportunities to senior management.
- Deliver work to specified quality standards, ensuring defect-free completion.
- Oversee the production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and waste management plans in line with company procedures.
- Ensure detailed site diaries and records are maintained.
- Drive cost-efficiency and challenge existing processes to improve performance.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing tunnelling and shaft projects within highly regulated UK environments.
- Hands-on experience with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) is essential.
- A broad civil engineering background is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in NEC contracts, including contract and change management.
- Skilled in Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and production of CVRs, with strong cost control, forecasting, and value assessment abilities.
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) required.
- SMSTS certification.
- Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems effectively.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver successful projects with minimal supervision.
