Join Groundwork’s species & habitat recovery project, funded by the Government’s Species
Survival Fund. You’ll create wildlife havens and drive large-scale nature recovery across
Greater Manchester. Be the project manager who makes it happen!

Leading the day to day co-ordination and planning, working with a multi-disciplinary team
across Groundwork and partners, you will provide leadership for the team and their programmes
of work.

This project is funded by the Government’s Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by
Defra and its Arm’s-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund
in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.

Delivery

  • Lead and manage the project, planning, scheduling and monitoring the interrelated
    programmes of work: – Capital works including the re-naturalisation of the River Medlock and
    habitats throughout the valley. – Community engagement: reaching new audiences, raising
    awareness of nature and facilitating active engagement in species monitoring, practical habitat
    creation/conservation and improvements to access. – Green skills development: a programme of
    training opportunities to inspire people from diverse backgrounds to gain new skills and
    consider a career in the environmental sector. – Relationship management with the landowners
    and delivery partners involved in the project.
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of team and financial resources, that deliverables and
    quality standards are met.
  • Manage the collection of output and outcome data, lead the analysis and learning from it
    and report/present accordingly to support learning, reporting and dissemination.
